1st

Seabirds:          The only saebirds movements involved Red-throated Diver 1 N 3 S, Gannet 5 S, Cormorant 1 S, Herring Gull 55 S, Great Black-backed Gull 16 S, Kittiwake 4 S, Auk Sp 1 and Guillemot 1 S.

Wildfowl:          Duck movement involved Wigeon 1 S 2 (in), Mallard 2 S. In the triangle 2                      shovler spent the day in Wbts.

2nd

Visible Migration:          Southerly passage included Stock Dve 4 , Wood Pigeon 1, Skylark 1, Greenfinch 1, Siskin 10, Linnet 7 and Snow Bunting 71, all of which flew S off the point tip between 08.00 -09.20.

Grounded Migrants:      The only grounded birds of note were a Fieldfare and 2 Blackbirds at the point.

Seabirds:      Passage involved Red-throated Diver 2 N and 2 on the sea, a Gannet,  Cormorant and 350 Herring Gulls S, whilst a Great Northern Diver  spent about 45 minuets drifting and feeding offshore.

Wildfowl:          Wildfowl passage included 13 Pink-footed Geese and a Red-breasted Merganser S, while 6 Shelduck came in from the east.

Visible Migration:          Southerly passage consisted of 9 Wood Pigeon, 2 Meadow Pipits, a Pied wagtail, 2 Goldfinches and 5 Linnets.

Grounded Migrants:      The only grounded migrants of any note were 5 Robins at the Pt and a Stonechat near the Warren.

Wildfowl:          Wildfowl on the Humber included 102 Wigeon, 27 Mallard and 2 Shovler in the Triangle.

4th

Visible Migration:          The only passage noted was a Greenfinch flying S over the Humber.

Grounded Migrants:      Grounded migrants on the peninsular only involved 2 Robin and 2 Lapland Buntings at the point.

Seabirds:          Seabird movement involved Red-throated Divers 5 N 2 S, 11 Common Gulls, 100 Herring Gulls, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 26 Great Black-backed Gulls and 2 Guillemots (1 N 1 S).

Wildfowl:          Offshore southerly duck movement involved 9 Shelduck, 5 Wigeon and 7 Common Scoter.

5th

Visible Migration:          The only birds noted flying South were 3 Meadow Pipits and 8 Snow Buntings.

Grounded Migrants:      2 mistle Thrushes in the Trinagle were the only grounded birds.

Seabirds:          Seabird passage involved 6 Red-throated Divers and a Gannet south.

Waders:           None Recorded.

Wildfowl:          Offshore 2 Common Scoter and a Wigeon flew S, and a Shovler spent the day in Walker-Butts.

6th

Grounded Migrants:      Migrants grounded on the peninsular included 4 Robins, 19 Blackbirds, a Fieldfare and Mistle Thrush at the lighthouse, 2 Redwing on the Pt, and a male Blackcap at Q.

Seabirds:          Seabird passage involved 40 Common Gulls S, 5 Kittiwake N + 1 S, 3 Puffin and 2 Auk Sp N.

Wildfowl:          Wildfowl passage consisted of 2 Brent Geese S and 8 Eider N.

7th

Grounded Migrants:      Grounded birds in the area included a Skylark and 2 Meadow Pipits in the Triangle, 2 Robins 10 Blackbirds and 2 Fieldfares at Q, and a Reed Bunting along the CZ.

Seabirds:          Seawatching proved to be very productive with Northerly passage involving 4 Diver Sp, 2 Red-throated Divers (+1 S), 2 Shearwater Sp and a Sooty Shearwater, 1 Gannet (+1 S), a Bonixie, 31 Kittiwakes and a Guillemot. In addition the following flew South 2 Little Gulls (+ 1 out) and 60 Herring Gulls.

Wildfowl:          Southerly offshore duck passage involved 2 Wigeon, 2 Teal, 3 Tufted, 10 Eider (+144 N), 11 Common Scoter (+ 2 N) and 2 Velvet Scoters.

 8th

Visible Migration:          The only passage involved 6 Snow Buntings South.

Grounded Migrants:      Migrants grounded on the peninsular included 2 Stonechat,. 14 Blackbirds, 3 Fieldfare, 12 Redwing and a Brambling at Q.

Seabirds:          Offshore movement consisted of 6 Red-throated Divers N (+1 S), A Gannet S (+2 N), 2 Shags N, 1 Bonxie N, 400 Herring Gulls and 100 Great Black-backed Gulls S, 1 Kittiwake, 5 AukSp and 13 Guillemot flew N and a Puffin was on the sae off the Pt.

Wildfowl:          Duck movements involved a flock of 73 Eider N (+1 S), 7 Common Scoter S (+5 N) and a Goldeneye (in).

9th

Grounded Migrants:      Grounded birds on the peninsular only involved 12 Blackbirds, 4 Redwings, and a Brambling on the Pt.

Seabirds:          Sea passsage involved 300 Herring Gulls, 150 Great Black-backed Gulls and 37 Kittiwakes South.

10th

Grounded Migrants:      The only grounded birds in the area were a Stonechat at the Warren, 20 Blackbirds, 2 Redwings and a Fieldfare along the Peninsular.

Seabirds:          Passage was slow with only a Gannet,1 Little Gull, 4 Kittiwakes, 1 Auk sp and a Lesser Black-backed Gull S.

Wildfowl:          A flock of 4 Wigeon S were the only wildfowl moving.

11th

Seabirds:          Offshore passage involved a Red-throated Diver N, a Gannet 3 Little Gulls, 2 Kittiwake and a Puffin S.

 

Wildfowl:          Offshore movement of 4 Eider S and 2 Common Scoter N.

12th

Grounded Migrants:      Grounded birds on the peninsular included 17 Blackbirds, 36 Fieldfare, a Song Thrush, 2 Redwings and a Mistle Thrush at The Pt.

13th

Grounded Migrants:      Birds grounded on the peninsular included 2 Water Rail Tri, 6 Robins, 35 Blackbirds, 4 Fieldfare, 2 Song Thrush, 6 Redwing and 2 Brambling on the Pt and a Peregrine was hunting over the Humber.

Seabirds:          The only birds moving of note were 3 Cormorant S.

Waders:           The only noteworthy waders were 2 Snipe in from the east.

Wildfowl:          A flock of 17 Mallard (in) were the only duck of note.

14th

Grounded: Migrants:     Grounded birds in the area consisted of a Skylark at MC, 24 Blackbirds, 10 Fieldfares Pt, 2 Mistle Thrushes (1 W 1 MC) and a Brambling at the Pt.

16th

Grounded Migrants:      Grounded birds on the peninsular included a Woodcock at the NN, 31 Blackbirds, a Song Thrush at the W, 3 Redwings in the Tri and 2 Bramblings at the Pt.

Seabirds:          The only seabird moving was a Red-throated Diver S off the Pt.

18th

Visible Migration:          A HenHarrier flew south over the Tri

Grounded Migrants:      Most of the grounded birds were on the Pt includingas Woodcock, 6 Robins, 22 Blackbirds, 2 Fieldfares and 3 Song Thrushes. The only birds away from the Pt were 3 Redwings at Q.

Wildfowl:          Wildfowl moving offshore included 21 Eiders S, 59 Common Scoters N (+4 S), and a Pale-bellied Brent S.           

19th

Grounded Migrants:      Most of the birds once again were on the Pt including a Robin, 20 Blackbirds, a Fieldfare and 2 Song Thrushes, elsewhere on the reserve there were 5 Redwings at Q and a Stonechat and Goldfinch in the Triangle.

20th

Grounded Migrants:      The only grounded birds were 6 Robins (3 Tri 3 Pt) and 30 Blackbirds (7 Q 23 Pt).

22nd

Grounded Migrants:      Grounded birds included a Water Rail at the Pt, 5 Robins, 11 Meadow Pipits and 11 Blackbirds in the Triangle, another 4 Blackbirds were on the Pt along with 3 Fieldfares and 2 Blackcaps. 

23rd

Grounded Migrants:      A Woodcock at the Warren and 48 Meadow Pipits in the Triangle were the only birds of note.

.Wildfowl:         A flock of 11 White-fronted Geese were in the Triangle, Offshore a Shelduck and 7 Pintail flew S.

24th

Visible Migration:          Southerly passage involved 2 Wood Pigeons, 14 Meadow Pipits and 3 Rooks, 26 Fieldfare came in from the east.

Grounded Migrants:      A Woodcock was at the warren and 14 Blackbirds and 4 Redwings were scattered along the Peninsular.

Seabirds:          A Red-throated Diver flew S down the Humber.

Waders:           Two Snipe were on the Humber.

Wildfowl:          The 11 White-fronted Geese were still in the Triangle.

25th

Visible Migration:          A flock of 19 Meadow Pipits S over the Warren .

Grounded Migrants:      Grounded birds consisted of 13 Blackbirds and a Fieldfare in the Tri, 2 Stonechats were at the Warren.

Wildfowl:          The 11 White-fronted Geese were still in the Triangle, duck present on the H included a Pintail, 5 Wigeon and 28 Mallard.

26th

Wildfowl:          A Pale-bellied Brent was on the Humber.

27th

Grounded Migrants:      The only birds of note were 2 Stonechats at the W and 11 Blackbirds scattered along the peninsular.

Seabirds:          Offshore movement involved a Cormorant, 6 Great Black-backed Gulls, 13 Herring Gulls and a Kittiwake all South.

28th

Grounded Migrants:                  A Rock Pipit near the Warren, and a Skylark in Clubleys, a Redwing, male Blackcap and 4 Reed Buntings were on the Point.

Wildfowl:          A flock of 5 White-fronted Geese were in the Tringle.

29th

Grounded Migrants:      Grounded Birds included 5 Wood Pigeons, 13 Blackbirds, and a Fieldfare at the Pt, and a Song Thrush near the Warren.

Wildfowl:          The 5 White-fronted Geese were still in the Triangle.

30th

Grounded Migrants:      Grounded birds consisted of 18 Blackbirds (6 Pt 12 Tri), 2 Redwings (1 PT 1 W), and a Robin at the Pt.

 

Waders:           Waders on the Humber included 330 Redshank and 122 Curlew.

Wildfowl:          The 5 White-fronted Geese were still in the Triangle, while on the Humber there was73 Brent Geese, 7 Shovler, 50 Wigeon and 12 Shelduck.

 

31st

 Grounded Migrants:      Grounded birds included a Wood Pigeon on the Pt, 7 Blackbirds and 5 Fieldfares scattered along the Penuinsular, and a Waxwing at chalk Bank.

Wildfowl:          The 5 White-fronted Geese were still in the Triangle.
